Nicole Chodkowski

Team QUBES bids farewell to QUBES Postdoctoral Researcher, Nicole Chodkowski

The QUBES team would like to thank former QUBES Postdoctoral Researcher Nicole Chodkowski for her hard work and dedication to the QUBES mission over the last year and a half.  Nicole is an aquatic ecologist with a passion for developing engaging curricular materials and research-based experiences with a quantitative biology focus.  Among her many accomplishments at QUBES, she has been instrumental in the planning, facilitation, and evaluation of QUBES Faculty Mentoring Networks (FMNs).  Team QUBES wholeheartedly wishes her the best as she transitions to a new position at Cornell University this semester, where she has been hired as an Active Learning Initiative (ALI) postdoc.  As an ALI postdoc, Nicole will be working to transition herpetology, entomology, and plant evolution courses from a traditional lecture format to active learning classrooms by creating modules that give students both conceptual and practical skills in overarching topics like phylogeny and evolution, biogeography, and diversity using specific examples relevant to each course.

We will miss you Nicole! We can’t wait to hear about all your exciting new projects. — The QUBES Team

ROW Recap

Each week in we feature an outstanding educational resource that is freely available on QUBES.  All resources featured in the Resource of the Week (ROW) have been plucked from  the large and growing collection of open education resources (OER) that are freely available on QUBES.  Most resources have open licenses, allowing you to easily find, use, and adapt the materials.  Each ROW includes a brief description of the education resource along with related materials and opportunities that might be of interest to faculty.

In this ROW Recap, we’ve rounded up the last 4 resources featured in the ROW since our last newsletter.  Browse the titles below and click on the images to visit the resource featured in the ROW.
