Description

We're happy to share with you this new, free project-sharing platform created by a group of Wesleyan University teachers, students, and alums: https://openlab.studio/

What's OpenLab?

It's a free space to build your portfolio and share projects with others. It was created with the aim of offering a better alternative to platforms like Moodle or Schoology, one that stays with students after graduation. Here is an example of a research poster project posted on OpenLab. https://openlab.studio/project/passion-driven-statistics-poster/

You can also make a portfolio of projects. Here's an example. https://openlab.studio/collection/lisa-dierker-psyc105-fys/

OpenLab’s new feature is "sprouting", where you can use someone else's project as a footprint to create something new. Sprouting connects projects from those that have inspired them, so everyone will be able to see how one person inspired many others.

We Offer Free Promotion of Your Work:

Since we aim to promote student work, we're also launching an Instagram campaign to help projects reach wider audiences. You can follow us at @opnlab https://www.instagram.com/opnlab. Tag us in posts/stories and we'll be sure to share what you created with the world.

If you'd like to further promote any of your projects for free, we’re here to support you. You can DM us on Instagram or email lperezmaqued@wesleyan.edu (subject line: OpenLab promotion) and we'll be happy to help you push your project forward. We can offer an interview, a social media post about your project, a shout-out, or any other form of promotion that benefits you. Your work is important, and we're here to help you share it with the world.

Happy to answer any questions. I would be grateful if you could share this with your current students or anyone else you think might be interested.

Thanks!
